SERRA by Birreria

SERRA by Birreria

Want to take a trip to the Italian countryside this spring? Join us at SERRA by Birreria, our pop-up restaurant on the roof!

Now that we're open, keep the cheers going with a complimentary Sgroppino — a frozen cocktail made with lemon, Prosecco, and vodka —  for everyone dining during lunch (21 and over) on weekdays through April 20. Pro tip: garnish your drink with your table's fresh herb centerpiece.

SERRA by Birreria celebrates the culture and cuisine of rural Italy by serving up biodynamic wines from New York and Italy alongside botanic-infused cocktails paired with regional dishes from Toscana, Liguria, Campania, and more, all made with ingredients sourced from our favorite U.S. farmers and Italian producers.

Inspired by the Italian "serra," or “greenhouse," the pop-up is filled with hanging greenery in a down-to-earth atmosphere that promises to transport you to the serene Italian countryside. Whether you're lounging with a cocktail or enjoying dinner in the greenhouse, you can sit back, relax, and feel in tune with the nature surrounding you.

Since no day in the countryside is complete without a meal that brings everyone together, the menu at SERRA by Birreria features shareable dishes served family-style and made with ingredients sourced from the best producers in Italy and the U.S., as well as traditional Italian fare that celebrates fresh field-to-fork cuisine, such as the fresh Verdure Crude dall’Orto, a raw vegetable plate highlighting an array of rotating seasonal vegetables with accompanying dipping sauces. In addition, the menu will highlight the wild game typically found in the hills and lakes of Italy, such as Coniglio Fritto (fried rabbit with lemon and herbs) as well as Trota con Salsa Verde (grilled rainbow trout with salsa verde and lemon).

“Building relationships with farmers and letting the ingredients speak for themselves is what creates a deep connection between the food and the people,” said our chef de cuisine, Jackie Jeong. “This new concept is very genuine and representative of that and of a traditional meal in the Italian countryside, where ingredients are fresh off the farm and shared on a communal table.”

Perfectly accenting the food, the drink menu is expertly curated and includes a Negroni popsicle, as well as refreshing botanic-infused cocktails that use housemade syrups made with dill, ginger, rosemary, and more. Since warmer days are upon us, SERRA by Birreria features a fresh-squeezed Limonata Stand with rotating lemons varieties, such as Limoni di Sorrento and Limoni Genovesi, along with the option to add herbs and liquors to really cool down in style.

In addition — yes, there's more! — for the month of April, we will donate 50% of the proceeds of our artisanal Otto bread to GrowNYC to support their Grow to Learn program, which aims to place a garden in every New York City public school and to date has built over 600 school gardens throughout the city.
