SERRA by Birreria is a seasonal rooftop restaurant located on the 14th floor of Eataly NYC Flatiron. Meaning “greenhouse” in Italian, SERRA changes with the seasons, always offering a fun, themed atmosphere and a rustic menu reflective of the Italian countryside.

And now, spring is in full bloom on the roof! Escape the hustle and bustle of Manhattan to relax at SERRA FIORITA, our “flowering greenhouse” replete with a lush, colorful atmosphere, an extensive Spritz cocktail menu, and vibrant seasonal plates infused with Italian springtime traditions. Inspired by the food and drink of the Italian countryside, SERRA offers a rustic menu that changes with the seasons. Our chefs source the very best ingredients that each season provides us with, working with both artisan Italian producers and local U.S. farms. Staying true to our greenhouse theme, we also grow our very own herbs inside a vertical hydroponic herb farm, thanks to our partnership with Farm.One.

Our newest seasonal menu features plates reflective of Italian springtime traditions, such as basil pesto-topped gnocchi, broccoli rabe burrata, and grilled Lucagina sausages. Large groups won’t want to miss the celebratory porchetta, a Roman-style pork roast served on a beautiful wooden board for the table to share, as well as Prosciutto di Carpegna, a special type of prosciutto made from a specific Italian pig breed of Italy’s central Marche region. As for drinks, SERRA FIORITA boasts an extensive natural wine and Spritz cocktail menu, including the classic Aperol Spritz, plus innovative twists such as a frozen version and a violet liqueur-infusion.

Kids urban gardening club, part of the Seed to Plate initiative by GrowNYC


We’re proud to be part of GrowNYC’s Seed to Plate initiative, a program that teaches New York City fifth and sixth graders about our food system. The program introduces students to why healthful, mindful eating is important for their health, the environment, and the community that surrounds them.

Students explore agriculture, nutrition, and cooking through field trips to a Greenmarket, urban farms, and classroom visits from farmers and chefs, film viewings, local food tastings and hands-on prep of delicious, diverse, and healthy food grown in or near New York City!

Here at Eataly NYC Flatiron, we’re sponsoring 75 Morton Street/MS 297, a public middle school that opened in 2018 after years of parent petitioning due to overcrowded middle schools in the area. In order to help keep their Seed to Plate programming going, we are donating a portion of the proceeds from Serra Fiorita to GrowNYC’s Seed to Plate programming. Funds from this donation will support the school’s rooftop garden and student after school gardening club – comprised of an active 100 members!

In addition, we’ll also be hosting select students to join us at our very own cooking school, La Scuola, for a series of fall and winter classes. Chef Leonardo will teach the kids how to transform simple ingredients that the kids harvest in the garden into a delicious Italian meal!

Host a memorable party or dinner under the stars! Semi-private group reservations are available on the roof for 10 to 30 guests prix-fixe menu served either seated family-style or in a standing reception with regional Italian bites. Want more of SERRA by Birreria? Take your event to the next level: the entire rooftop is available for full buyouts of up to 120 seated guests or 175 guests in a standing reception.
