SERRA by Birreria is a seasonal rooftop restaurant located on the 14th floor of Eataly NYC Flatiron. Meaning “greenhouse” in Italian, SERRA changes with the seasons, always offering a fun, themed atmosphere and a rustic menu reflective of the Italian countryside.

Escape the hustle and bustle of Manhattan to relax at SERRA ALPINA, our “winter greenhouse” replete with a cozy, snow-covered atmosphere, an extensive cocktail menu (think: coffee and even truffle-inspired cocktails), and vibrant seasonal plates infused with traditional flavors of the Italian Alps and featuring top local produce.

*For groups larger than 11, please see our private dining options.

Stay tuned, amici: our "blossoming greenhouse" on the roof is on its way, just in time for spring! SERRA FIORITA will open on March 16 – book your table to be one of the first to enjoy new spring menus featuring local produce and inspired by the Italian countryside, refreshing gin cocktails and sparkling Moscato d'Asti, and a bright floral ambience, just in time for the sunnier days and warmer weather.

Pro tip: visit during Restaurant Fest from March 16-29 for two-course menus for $28 & $25 bottles of wine!

Italian fondue and risotto at Eataly

risotto milanese

Inspired by the food and drink of the Italian countryside, SERRA offers a rustic menu that changes with the seasons. Our chefs source the very best ingredients that each season provides us with, working with both artisan Italian producers and local U.S. farms.

Our newest seasonal menu features plates inspired by classic flavors from the Italian mountains, with a focus on local verdure invernali, or winter vegetables. Our seasonal menu will feature antipasti like Fonduta Valdostana, an Italian-style fondue made with Fontina Val D'Aosta DOP, fingerling potatoes, otto bread, root vegetables (plus: add freshly shaved black or white truffles for extra decadence!). For a hearty main course, try Osso Buco alla Milanese, a braised osso buco for two served with risotto Milanese and gremolata, or the Sedano Rapa, a whole roasted Celery Root topped with creamy Fonduta Valdostana, freshly shaved Burgundy Truffles, and celery leaves.

As for drinks, SERRA ALPINA boasts an extensive vino libero wine list, with a special focus on Barolo and Nebbiolo. Don't miss your chance to try our take on Vin Brulé, or spiced wine, an Italian tradition that dates back to ancient Rome, made with Moscato d’Asti DOCG steeped with Orange Peel, Cloves, Cinnamon, Star Anise, and Allspice. Other winter cocktails include a Truffletini, featuring White Truffle-infused Vodka and a brand new menu of coffee-infused cocktails! Try festive spins on caffè inspired drinks like the Eatalian Job, made with Coldbrew Coffee, Frangelico, Vodka, Heavy Cream, Chocolate, and Chocolate bitters, or learn a little Italian coffee history as you sip on the Prospero Alpini, made with Mr. Blacks Coffee Liqueur, Simple Syrup,  Sweet Vermouth, Averna Amaro, and Coldbrew Coffee (the backstory: this drink takes its name from the famed Venetian botanist who is said to have published the first account of coffee in Europe!).

Kids urban gardening club, part of the Seed to Plate initiative by GrowNYC

We’re proud to be part of GrowNYC’s Seed to Plate initiative, a program that teaches New York City fifth and sixth graders about our food system. Here at Eataly NYC Flatiron, we’re sponsoring 75 Morton Street/MS 297, a public middle school that opened in 2018 after years of parent petitioning due to overcrowded middle schools in the area. In order to help keep their Seed to Plate programming going, we are donating a portion of the proceeds from Serra Alpina to GrowNYC’s Seed to Plate programming. Funds from this donation will support the school’s rooftop garden and student after school gardening club – comprised of an active 100 members! Learn more about how Eataly NYC Flatiron gives back.

Host a memorable party or dinner under the stars! Semi-private group reservations are available on the roof for 10 to 30 guests prix-fixe menu served either seated family-style or in a standing reception with regional Italian bites. Want more of SERRA by Birreria? Take your event to the next level: the entire rooftop is available for full buyouts of up to 120 seated guests or 175 guests in a standing reception.

Please note that during the weekends, we may only be able to accommodate groups of up to 15 people.
