FALL FOR THE SEASON

The city’s favorite season has arrived and with it comes the transformation of SERRA by Birreria, our Italian greenhouse restaurant on the 14th floor!

The surest sign of autumn in New York? The fall ingredients at local farmers markets. At SERRA, Eataly’s chefs have crafted a menu featuring the season’s best produce from the neighboring Union Square Greenmarket. Every week, our chefs can be spotted strolling through the market on a zealous search for the peak season ingredients. From the quality of the harvest to lesser known varieties just waiting to be explored, the SERRA menu is a reflection of the dedication and care from the producers themselves.

Discover this month's famer spotlight -  Migliorelli Farm in North Dutchess County, NY. The Insalata di Radicchio e Mele features Migliorelli Farm honeycrisp apples alongside seasonal radicchio and hazelnuts.

For even more seasonal faire, try dishes like Fichi e Ricotta, fresh local figs, Calabro ricotta, shaved Brussel Sprouts and grilled housemade bread, or the Zucca con Stracciatella e Nocciole, a savory and sweet dish featuring roasted honeynut squash with Liuzzi stracciatella cheese and hazelnut vinaigrette.

HAVE A SIP OF FALL

Eataly’s experts have crafted an entirely new menu of libations that gives prominence to fall’s best flavors. From crisp apples, sweet pears, and, of course, a dash of cinnamon, guests can sip on classic cocktails with seasonal flair. Among them the Fig Manhattan uses Italian Carpano Antica Formula vermouth and figs to add an Italian twist to a New York favorite. Or fizz it up with a Zenzero Frizzante for a spiced ginger drink of Portofino Gin, Apple Aperitivo, Borgogno Bianco Vermouth and finished off with a pour of La Gioiosa Prosecco.

AUTUMN IN A NUTSHELL

Did you know that hazelnuts are harvested in the fall? Italy is the second largest
hazelnut producer in the world, and are a trademark ingredient in Italian cuisine during the fall. To bring you a taste of this seasonal nut, try the Frittelle con Nocciolata, a dessert featuring fluffy fried dough, topped with Rigoni di Asiago Nocciolata, an organic cocoa and hazelnut spread made with sustainably grown, organic hazelnuts and high-quality cocoa and cocoa butter, and natural Bourbon vanilla extract.

GROWING NYC AT SERRA

The menu at SERRA wouldn’t be possible without seasonal ingredients from the farms right in Eataly’s backyard. So, this fall, they have partnered with GrowNYC, New York’s premier nonprofit committed to improving the city’s quality of life through environmental programs such as farmers markets, recycling, and education. To support the mission, this fall, we are donating a portion of the proceeds from SERRA by Birreria to support GrowNYC and its efforts to provide New Yorkers with a bountiful array of fresh foods.
