BAITA

BAITA

Baita is now closed for the season. Join us at Il Patio di Eataly for outdoor dining!

In Piemonte, baita (pronounced <bye-tah>) is the Italian word for a small ski lodge in the Italian Alps. These cozy dwellings are the ideal place to escape the elements after an exhilarating day outdoors, while enjoying simple food and drink, such as rustic pasta housemade ragù, and mulled wine. Each single-party baita provides a safe outdoor dining experience that is still shielded from the elements, so you can dine safely and comfortably outside throughout the season. These SolarFi Privé Pods are solar-powered, providing users the electricity needed to keep you comfortable while dining.

THE SCOOP AT BAITA THIS SPRING

For a limited time this spring, Eataly is hosting a creation by renowned local brands, Una Pizza Napoletana and Morgenstern's Finest Ice Cream, who have partnered to develop the Una Collection, a limited-edition line of ice cream.

A special flavor, Baita Royale, was created by Nick Morgenstern for Eataly using high-quality ingredients right from our market. This ice cream-take on tiramisù is made with our mascarpone, sprinkled with Biscottini di Novara Camporelli, Venchi Chocaviar 75% glaze, and topped with Fabbri Strawberries. Try this unique flavor only at Baita, or at the vending machine by our gelato counter.

GET A TASTE OF ALPINE DISHES

Our chefs will bring the tastes of the Italian Alps to your NYC neighborhood with dishes like Raclette, a favorite of Italy’s mountain regions during the winter months. Our Reading Raclette is warmed up over an open flame and then cascaded over fingerling potatoes and roasted root vegetables and accompanied with Rovagnati Prosciutto Cotto, and more.

Then carburate as you would after a long Alpine hike with a selection of dry and fresh housemade pasta! From housemade Tagliatelle with ragù di cinghiale (wild boar), or dry Afeltra Pasta di Gragnano IGP Vesuvio  ragù di salsiccia, sausage and broccoli rabe ragù, topped with Pecorino Romano. Don't miss this twist on an Italian classic: Loacker Tiramisù, made with chocolate-covered espresso wafer cookies from Loacker.

WARM UP WITH SEASONAL COCKTAILS

As for the beverage menu, our team of experts have given the classics a toasty spin! Warm up with a new menu of hot cocktails, like an Old Fashioned or the famed Negroni upgraded for winter with hot Italian teas or Vin Brulé, for a warming experience. Guests will also be able to discover new housemade shrubs, a fermented beverage using fresh fruits, herbs and spices. Choose from a variety of seasonal flavors like Black Mission Figs or local apples, fermented in-house by Eataly’s experts and paired with the perfect complementary spirit and garnish.

Then discover Valle d’Aosta, one of Italy’s famed skiing destinations, through our wine list. Guests will be able to taste the elegant wines that thrive in this mountainous region – from mineral-driven whites, to full bodied and fruity reds, Valle d’Aosta wines promise to warm you up after a day of “slaloming” through NYC.
