Meet the Brewery

Meet the Brewery

Join us at SABBIA on the rooftop for a "hopping" good time on select Thursdays from 6 to 8 p.m., featuring local breweries.

Beer enthusiasts will attest that New York is lucky to be surrounded by a number of craft breweries. Small and independent, these breweries follow traditional recipes for beer, the flavor of which derives from traditional or innovative ingredients and fermentation (opposed to flavor additives). The resulting craft beer is smooth, complex, and delicious.

With our “Meet the Brewery” series, you have the rare opportunity to meet the people behind the beer. No need to register for this event; seating at the bar is first come, first served.

Here's what's coming up!

June 22, 6-8 p.m. | Interboro Spirits and Ales

Interboro Spirits and Ales is Brooklyn's only craft brewery and distillery.
Their goal is to engage, inspire, and bring people together with our distinctive, flavor-forward beers and spirits. From session beers to barrel-strength whiskeys, they explore the many things that can be done with three basic ingredients: grain, yeast and water.

July 20, 6-8 p.m. | Threes Brewing

The people behind Threes Brewing aspire to make beer that’s good — not just interesting or different. They want to create beer that can be enjoyed without screaming for your attention, beer that you want to revisit over and over again. At the brewery where the beer is carefully crafted and gladly shared, they set out to create a space that’s as warm as it is cool. Where friends can come together, strangers can become friends, or where you can simply drink some Constant Disappointment IPA, if you so choose.

July 27, 6-8 p.m. | SingleCut Beersmiths

SingleCut Beersmiths was founded in Queens, New York, by the music-obsessed brewer Rich Buceta, whose life-long passions led to a place where hops and vinyl could shine side by side. After years of home brewing and professional stints around NYC, Rich stayed true to his dream, and dove headfirst into the brewing world. Since opening in 2012, SingleCut has gained a loyal following throughout the East Coast.

August 3, 6-8 p.m. | Other Half Brewing Company

Other Half Brewing Company was founded in 2014 by Samuel Richardson and Matt Monahan. The duo believes local breweries play an important role in their communities which is why, despite the challenges of running a brewery in NYC, they couldn’t choose anywhere but Brooklyn's Carroll Gardens as their home.

August 10, 6-8 p.m. | Gun Hill Brewing Company

Gun Hill Brewing Company co-founders Kieran Farrell and Dave Lopez met on a baseball field in the Bronx in early 2004. After a decade of taking the field together, Kieran and Dave decided to team up in another venture: making beer. With a location yards away from Gun Hill in the Bronx, the site of a strategic battle of the Revolutionary War, Kieran and Dave not only found their name, but also an identity to match their ideals.

August 17, 6-8 p.m. | Transmitter Brewing

Transmitter Brewing founders Rob Kolb and Anthony Accardi first shared a beer in 2005 when they were both avid amateur bicycle racers. They soon realized they shared a love of food and a passion for making it themselves. Many meals and beers later, Rob convinced Anthony to dust off old homebrew equipment he had from the '90s as a homebrewer and the seeds of Transmitter Brewing were sown. They have been brewing beers with a focus on traditional and farmhouse ales ever since.

From after-hours speakeasies to movies on the roof, there's always something going on at SABBIA. Check out all the happenings!
