What makes Milano a top culinary destination? Take the perfect balance of mountains, plains, and a moderate climate, and add to it long-standing artisanal traditions, and you’ve got rich dishes that are at once elevated and comforting. The menu at Bar Milano features both local producers and high-quality Northern Italian staples. Start with a classic risotto – a must at any Milanese restaurant – like the traditional Risotto allo Zafferano, or the decadent Risotto al Tartufo Bianco, with fresh white truffles from Urbani shaved tableside. During the Renaissance, the swamps near Milano were turned into rice paddies, and rice has played a starring role ever since.

For a secondo, indulge in a traditional Cotoletta, a bone-in veal chop from Sullivan Farms, served simply with local chicories and lemon (our chefs will also offer options made with Autumn’s Harvest Farm Pork Chop or Cascun Farm Chicken Breast). Don't forget to try regional antipasti like the Vitello Tonnato, made with thinly sliced Veal Top Round with Tardivo Radicchio and a housemade Tonnato Sauce.

The favored drink of any Milano bar? None other than the Negroni. Sure, any Milanese will swear by the traditional recipe, but we're shaking things up at Bar Milano by exploring local and Italian spirits. Our beverage experts have put together a selection of single-producer Negroni, each bringing a unique taste and spin to a classic aperitivo, without losing any of its class. Guests will also be able to discover our housemade shrubs, a fermented beverage using fresh fruits, herbs and spices. Choose from a variety of seasonal tastes like Black Mission Figs or local apples, fermented in-house by our experts and paired with the perfect complementary spirit and garnish.

As for vino, guests can explore a unique wine list made up of 30 wines produced within a 100-mile radius from Milano. Milano became one of Italy’s strongest and richest cities during the Renaissance and Medieval times thanks to an emerging new trade route that connected far off parts of the Mediterranean to Northern Europe. At Bar Milano, we look to experience this culmination of cultures and celebrate all they have to offer through the wine glass. On our list, guests will find a variety of recognizable estates and the distance in miles from Milano, giving them the chance to travel across Italy through each glass.
