Italia del Gusto: A History of Caesar Salad at Foodiversità

Italia del Gusto: A History of Caesar Salad at Foodiversità

The origins of Caesar salad hail from Tijuana, Mexico by Italian chef Caesar Cardini. Many believe that the only way to create the condiment is by hand, table side, while others debate whether or not it is a true Caesar salad without the anchovies. The chef’s daughter Rosa Cardini recalls that her father invented the dish making due with what he had for his restaurant over a Fourth of July weekend.

Discover the story of Caesar Cardini and his infamous salad at our complimentary tasting and class at Foodiversità, our free "food university" on March 9 at 1 and 6 p.m. with our Education Manager Ryan Gormley.

Foodiversità is located in the scenic northwest corner of the market, overlooking 1 World Trade Center. No registration is necessary; seating is first come, first served.

Buon appetito!
