Indulge at Carnevale Bar

Indulge at Carnevale Bar

For centuries, masqueraders have flocked to Venezia for Carnevale, a last hurrah before the restrictions of Lent begin. And if you knew you couldn’t indulge for 40 days or 40 nights, what would you do?

Eat sweet fried dough, of course!

Revel like a Venetian at Carnevale Bar, our pop-up serving decadent Italian fritters traditionally made only at this time of year. Give in to the thin, crispy ribbons of chiacchiere ("chatter"); doughy, jam-filled balls of bugie ("lies”); and round, cream-filled castagnole ("chestnuts"). Each is made with sweet pastry dough that has been deep fried and sprinkled with powdered sugar. You can't order wrong — but we suggest you try all of them anyway!

Every night, you can indulge your sweetest fantasies at Carnevale Bar, located just past our entrance from 5 to 9 p.m., February 15 to 28.

(Just be sure to leave with the right person.)
