Craving adventure? Enjoy dinner in Toscana without leaving New York City!
Starting March 22, Il Pesce is being taken over by La Toscana, a pop-up inspired by modern Tuscan flavors. The restaurant is completely transformed, channeling an authentic Tuscan trattoria with its rustic decor and full-service menu.
As you take in artistic masterpieces, start your Tuscan experience with a typical antipasto, like a trio of fettunta (i.e., bruschetta, pictured below), our housemade bread topped with with chickpeas, whipped lardo, and garlic and olive oil. Move on to a primo along the lines of fettuccine con funghi, long delicate strands of egg pasta in a wild mushroom ragù (try the recipe). For a full Tuscan meal, order a secondo, such as bistecca al rosmarino, the simple Firenze-style steak (get a preview).
Pair your dishes with a regional bottle from wineries such as Frescobaldi, which has been producing wine in their family castle for more than 700 years.
Open through April 30, La Toscana offers lunch and dinner every day; stop by weekdays from 12-3 p.m. for the prix-fixe lunch menu.
