Dine in Roma

Dine in Roma

Craving a taste of the sweet life? Enjoy dinner in Roma without leaving New York City!

Starting May 1, Il Pesce is being taken over by Alla Romana, a pop-up inspired by the Roman philosophy of il dolce far niente, or "the sweetness of doing nothing" but enjoying your idle time. The restaurant is completely transformed, channeling Roma with a full-service menu that encourages sharing the many plates.

As you relax, start your Roman experience with a typical antipasto, like carciofi alla romana, Roman-style artichokes. Move on to a primo along the lines of spaghetti alle vongole, long strands of pasta with flavorful clams (try the recipe). And yeah, go ahead and get that secondo, such as saltimbocca con asparagi e piselli, veal cutlet with seasonal sparagus and spring peas.

If you're really going to be Roman, splurge on a glass (or a bottle!) of regional wine from wineries such as Casale del Giglio, which has been producing wine in their family estate for centuries. Why not? You're in Roma!

Open through June 4, Alla Romana offers lunch and dinner every day; stop by weekdays from 12-3 p.m. for the prix-fixe lunch menu.
