In Italy, pizza-making apprentices train under experts for years before earning the title pizzaiolo. Now, local pizza lovers have the opportunity to work with our own expert pizzaioli with Eataly Chicago's all-new series!
Every Thursday, Eataly invites a different Chicago food lover to our open kitchens at La Pizza & La Pasta for a crash course in the love, labor, and tradition that goes into each pizza napoletana. After training with our Neapolitan team, each “Pizzaiolo for a Day” will stretch and toss one of our four new doughs, top with high-quality ingredients, and watch the pizza bake in our traditional wood-burning ovens.
On Thursday, March 30, join us in welcoming Kiki Luthringshausen, Chicago-based tastemaker and creative consultant, as she joins our Rossopomodoro pizzaiolo, Simone Iavarone, in the pizza kitchen for our all-new weekly series: “Pizzaiolo for a Day."
Inspired by her children and her food experience, Pizzaiola Kiki created a pizza named Il Capolavoro (roasted Brussels sprouts, housemade stracciatella, and pancetta on Eataly's Rustica multi-grain pizza dough). Enjoy it for $18!
The best part? $10 from every pizza sold will go to Ingenuity, an organization that engages students in art programs at Chicago Public Schools. Founded in 2011, Ingenuity works to ensure that the arts are a core component of every student’s education in Chicago Public Schools. Every year, Ingenuity partners with hundreds of cultural institutions, arts organizations and individual teaching artists, and coordinates their efforts to serve 380,000 CPS students with high-quality and impactful arts education programs.
As part of the evening, you can also explore the restaurant and discover artwork by two of her three children, Hudson and Lucy Luthringhausen. View more of Hudson's work in his online portfolio!
Join us each week at La Pizza & La Pasta to watch your fellow Chicagoans master the process – and maybe pick up a couple tips and tricks yourself! Reserve your table now.
