Celebrate Lidia Bastianich at Eataly Chicago

Emmy Award-winning chef, cookbook author, restaurateur, and more — Eataly partner and chef Lidia Bastianich gives us plenty of reasons to celebrate.

Enter: Lidia Day! On Saturday, April 21, Eataly Chicago is dedicating a full day — and a bonus evening! — of activities to the beloved chef, from a cooking class to a book signing.

Friday, April 20, 6 to 8 p.m.

"Tutti a tavola a mangiare! Everyone to the table to eat!" – Lidia Bastianich

Get a head-start on Lidia Day with a special ticketed dinner hosted by the chef herself. During this once-in-a-lifetime evening, indulge in a menu curated by our chefs in collaboration with Lidia while you sip wines and enjoy intimate conversations.

Your ticket includes a copy of her memoir, and four courses of traditional Italian fare with wines poured alongside each course, each carefully-selected by our beverage experts at Eataly. At the dinner, you will also have the opportunity for Lidia to sign your book for you with a personalized message.

This intimate dinner is limited to just 10 guests. Don't miss out!

Saturday, April 21, 2 to 4 p.m.

“Food, you know, tells us who we are, where we come from. It connects us, it expresses emotion. It expresses care, it expresses love.” – Lidia Bastianich

To celebrate the release of her latest book, My American Dream: A Life of Love, Family, and Food, Chef Jeremy Williams will demonstrate several of Lidia’s favorite recipes from throughout her life while Lidia shares her insights about the menu, cooking secrets and reflections on her memoir while you savor each bite. No Italian meal is complete without wine, so a beverage expert from Eataly will pour perfectly-paired wines with each course.

At $175 per person, your ticket includes five courses, five wine pairings, and a gift bag including your own copy of her memoir, a jar of Lidia's sauce, and a box of Lidia's pasta.

Saturday, April 21, 4:30 to 6 p.m.

"Few people outside of my immediate family know this, but for the first five years of my life, my name was not Lidia, it was Giuliana." – the first line of Lidia's all-new memoir

What better addition to your cookbook collection than a signed copy of Lidia's new memoir? During the signing, you will have the opportunity to meet her and pick up copies of her memoir, and her entire cookbook collection!

In My American Dream: A Life of Love, Family, and Food, released on April 3, Lidia takes readers from her life under communism, a dramatic escape across the border and life as a refugee, to her journey to America – penniless – and the launch of her food business. She describes the struggle to open her flagship Manhattan restaurant, Felidia, and all the accolades that followed, including the night that Julia Child and James Beard came to dine (which later resulted in the launch of Lidia’s TV career). The rest, they say, is history.

No need to register for this event: just come early!

Friday and Saturday, April 20 and 21, all day
