J.B. is Eataly's restaurant dedicated to James Beard, the famed chef who revolutionized American cuisine through his restaurants, TV show, cooking school, and much more. From appetizers to desserts, the classic menu exclusively features dishes found in Chef Beard's own cookbooks. J.B. will be open weekends from April 22 to May 1.

WHO IS JAMES BEARD? 

James Beard, named the "Dean of American Cookery" by the New York Times in 1954, was the first American chef to speak strongly about the importance of cooking seasonally and simply and the value of sourcing local products. After years in the food industry, he shared this passion through a cooking show (television's first!), a cooking school, and his generous, educational spirit. Today, his legacy lives on through his cookbooks, foundation (which gives scholarships to young chefs, among other activities), and generations of still-devoted chefs and food enthusiasts.
