Meet Me in Venezia

Meet Me in Venezia

Built on a lagoon, Venezia – the “Floating City” – is an enchanting maze of marble palaces and soaring piazzas connected by twisting streets and marble bridges.

This month, you can experience the legendary city (without the long flight) at Eataly Chicago! We’ve transformed our own maze of a marketplace through Venetian fare, sparkling drinks, and cultural festivities (Carnevale, anyone?). Eat (and drink!), shop, and learn about Venezia!

EAT (AND DRINK!)

La Piazza is completely transforming into Piazza San Marco, the iconic square in the heart of Venezia known for its sweeping marble columns, surrounding palaces, and winged lion (a symbol of San Marco). Stop by for a traditional aperitivo with cicchetti and spritzCicchetti are small plates enjoyed before a meal with a spritz, a sparkling cocktail made with Prosecco, a bitter liqueur like Select Aperitivo or Aperol, and a splash of soda water. See the Piazza San Marco menu!

After your aperitivo, enjoy a taste of Venezia at our restaurants, where we are offering traditional dishes and drinks. Sip a refreshing Venetian wine with Spaghetti al Nero di Seppia (string pasta, cuttlefish, tomato, squid ink, capers, lemon, and parsley) at Osteria di Eataly; you'll feel like you're sitting canal-side with seafood risotto at Il Pesce!

SHOP

After tasting cicchetti, spritz, and other typical products, bring a taste of Venezia to your own table! Our shelves are stocked with regional ingredients, from savory and salted sardines to sweet and delicate cookies.

Then, stop by Eataly Vino to bring home Venetian wine and liqueurs, so you can make your own aperitivo! We've just received an order of the hard-to-find Select Aperitivo, creators of the original Venetian Spritz.

LEARN

Venezia is famous for Carnevale, the last hurrah before the restrictions of Lent (think: Italian Mardi Gras). During the celebrations, which can last from a day to a month, revelers are free to eat, drink, and dance without reproof. Every year, revelers flock to the famous Piazza San Marco to witness the elaborate costumes and masks, lively street parades, and regional food and wine.

This year, experience the full festivities of with a special Carnevale night at Eataly Chicago on February 24! At $95 per person, tickets include unlimited food, drinks (yes, that means beer, wine, and cocktails!), and entertainment for the entire evening. Learn more and get your tickets!

For more feasting fun, join us at our Carnevale Bar from February 15 to 28. Our pop-up is serving decadent Italian fritters traditionally made only at this time of year, when thousands of masqueraders flock to Venezia for great feasting and dancing before the restrictions of Lent begin. Learn more and indulge in your sweetest fantasies here! (Just be sure to go home with the right person.)
