We are declaring Prosciutto Week at Eataly Chicago!
From March 20 to 26, Eataly is celebrating the authentic Tuscan prosciutto of Piacenti with tasty dishes, market offers (free mozzarella, anyone?), and complimentary tastings.
Located in the medieval hilltop town of San Gimignano, Piacenti's salumificio cures prosciutto following ancient Tuscan traditions that can be traced back to the House of Medici. The pork is hand-rubbed not just with salt but with spices, such as wild juniper berries and the finest black pepper. Decidedly different than its northern cousins, the resulting Prosciutto Toscano DOP boasts intense flavor with an almost spicy finish.
Hungry yet? Join us during Prosciutto Week to eat, shop, and learn about Tuscan prosciutto all week long!
Begin your dining experience with a typical Tuscan aperitivo!
Taste prosciutto paired with other artisanal Italian salumi and formaggi and a glass of wine in La Piazza. Located in the heart of Eataly, the restaurant serves antipasti platters featuring Prosciutto Toscano from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. every day.
Bring the flavors of Toscana into your kitchen with our special market offers all week long! In Italy, prosciutto is traditionally served with juicy fruit and creamy mozzarella. Share this classic pairing with a free eight-ounce mozzarella when you purchase of two trays of either Piacenti's Prosciutto Toscano DOP or Prosciutto Arrosto through Saturday, March 25.
Then, on March 26, enjoy 30% off Piacenti's prosciutto all day long!
Throughout Prosciutto Week, join us for complimentary tastings on the second floor of our market. Every day from 12-3 p.m., our passionate prosciutto experts will knife slice Prosciutto Toscano DOP for you to savor.
And come with questions: we will be ready to describe the entire production process, from the raising of the Tuscan pigs to the temperature-controlled curing to the best food and drink to pair with prosciutto.
Happy Prosciutto Week!
