Identità Golose: Schedule of Events

On Tuesday, October 6, Eataly Chicago and Identità Golose will host two intimate educational cooking demonstrations and invite a handful of epicureans to experience the work of all-star chefs in a personal setting.

These educational master classes will feature discussions about today’s global culinary trends and techniques while guests sample each of the chefs’ dishes paired with Italian wines. Master Class with Heinz Beck & Andrew Zimmerman | 12-1:30 p.m.

In this class, Executive Chef Heinz Beck of La Pergola, the only 3-Michelin-starred restaurant in Rome, and Executive Chef Andrew Zimmerman of Sepia, a Michelin-starred restaurant in Chicago’s West Loop, will be tasked to create a dish that best represents an “Homage to Italy.”

Master Class with Cristina Bowerman & Giuseppe Tentori | 4-5:30 p.m.

Welcome Cristina Bowerman, the executive chef of Glass Hostaria in Rome and chef ambassador of Expo Milan 2015, and Giuseppe Tentori, the chef and partner of GT Fish & Oyster, a starred restaurant in Chicago’s River North, as they work together to create a dish that represents the best tribute to Italy.

Lidia Bastianich Presents An All-Star Chefs’ Dinner at Baffo | 7-10 p.m.

Let beloved the chef, restaurateur, and Eataly partner Lidia Bastianich graciously entertain you while leading an exclusive team of Italian and Eatalian chefs for an unforgettable four-course dinner at Baffo Ristorante, our fine-dining restaurant.

The four chefs, Heinz Beck, Cristina Bowerman, Giuseppe Tentori, and Eataly USA Executive Chef Alex Pilas, will partner up to create four delicious dishes for guests to enjoy. Each course will be accompanied by a thoughtfully selected Italian wine and great company — bringing the best of Italy and Chicago all under one roof!

Merano WineFestival

The Merano WineFestival, the world’s most exclusive celebration of Italian and international winemaking over the last two decades, will bring together 30 of the most celebrated and historic Italian wineries from throughout the Italian peninsula.

Guests will enjoy wines from each producer, poured by founders and family members from each Italian winery. Tickets are available for $40 per person and include wine tastings from each of the 30 wineries, paired with an impeccable menu that our team of Eatalian chefs has curated especially for the occasion.

IDENTITÀ Golose, founded in 2004 by Italian food journalist Paolo Marchi, is a culinary organization whose mission is to highlight the best of contemporary Italian cuisine, showcase the culinary excellence of each Italian region and honor the top Italian chefs who proudly blend traditional techniques with modern methods. The first Identità Golose event was held in Milan in 2005, and six events have been held since, each one showcasing the greatest Italian and international chefs, pastry chefs, and artisanal producers. The success of Identità Golose in Italy eventually led to the launch of Identità London in 2009. Following the success of the London event, Identità Golose decided to share the talent of Italy’s finest chefs with an American audience - the first Identità Golose New York took place in 2010 at Eataly.
