Lauded as the king of wines, Barolo is produced with 100% Nebbiolo grapes, a prized varietal grown in certified areas in the northern region of Piemonte. Across the world, the complex red wine is renowned for its bold flavors and graceful aging. Traditionally, Barolo is a slow and steady wine, sometimes taking more than 10 years to soften and become ready for consumption.
Glass by glass, we will explore Barolo through the reknown wines of Fontanafredda. The winery was founded in 1858 by Count Emanuele Alberto di Mirafiori on the hunting grounds of his father, King Vittorio Emanuele II. More than 150 years later, the estate continues to produce wines of the highest caliber, thanks to the respect of the land, passion for vinicultural tradition, and use of innovative technology.
