Sardegna (Sardinia) is among one of the most beautiful and untouched territories in Europe. Its distance from the continent, along with a strong pastoral tradition, has allowed this island region to develop a distinctive culture that is reflected also in its cuisine. Sardgena is the second largest island in the Mediterranean, after Sicily, and boasts many peculiar wines and cheeses. The most well-respected and traditional cheeses are produced from a native Sardinian sheep breed whose origins stretch back thousands of years. In addition to Sardegna’s pecorino cheeses, the wines produced in this region also exude a unique and distinctive quality. Cannonau and Vermentino are just two examples of indigenous grape varieties that are attracting wine enthusiasts to this remote Italian region. Join us at La Scuola di Eataly Boston as we discover the unique wines and cheeses from this beautiful Mediterranean island. In this class, guests will:

  • Learn about the different grape varieties in Sardegna
  • Taste a selection of wines paired with cheeses from the region
  • Discuss the flavor profile of the wines with an Eataly sommelier
  • Listen to an Eataly cheesemonger describe the production methods and flavors of selected cheeses
  • Take home tasting notes

Class duration is approximate and may vary by 10-15 minutes. All guests planning to consume alcohol must be able to produce valid government-issued identification to prove they are 21 or older.
