EATALY’S ZERO WASTE MANIFESTO
1. USE LESS.
We promise to use less by purchasing only what is necessary and encouraging everyone to consume only what they need.
2. USE MINDFULLY.
If we do need to use something, we’ll use it as much as possible and dispose of it only when it can’t be reused again.
3. GIVE IT A SECOND (AND THIRD) LIFE.
We will conserve our earth’s natural resources and our own creations by creatively upcycling them wherever possible (stale bread we’re looking at you).
4. THERE IS NO "AWAY."
When we throw something “away” it doesn’t really go away. We will prioritize the use of recyclable and compostable materials so we can send them back to the earth.
5. KNOW THE SOURCE.
By knowing where a product comes from, we can understand its impact on the world. Just ask our experts. They can tell you the story of each and every one of our products.
6. WE'RE IN THIS TOGETHER.
We can’t do it alone. We promise to train and educate our employees and guests on what we’re trying to do so we can accomplish more together.
7. INVITE OTHERS TO JOIN THE JOURNEY.
We will market our message to the world and encourage our friends, family, and partners to join our path to zero waste so that we can eat and live better.
