How to Eat Honey All Day

How to Eat Honey All Day

Honey lovers, rejoice! Mike’s Hot Honey has you covered with this guide on how to enjoy their unique, versatile condiment for every meal, down to your after-dinner cocktail.

Based in Brooklyn, Mike’s Hot Honey produces a wildflower honey that is harvested from apiaries in New York and New Jersey, then infused with chili peppers. The resulting spicy sweetness pairs with a variety of flavors, from salty to sour. When founder Mike Kurtz mentioned his condiment’s adaptability to Eataly Magazine, we challenged him to find a dish for every meal that incorporates the unusual honey. Luckily for us (and now you!), he accepted.

Honey Cocktail

Mike shared the recipe for the hot-honeyed cocktail:

¼ cup grapefruit juice
¼ cup mezcal or tequila
¼ cup club soda
1 tablespoon Mike's Hot honey
1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
Mint garnish (optional)

Shake the grapefruit juice, mezcal or tequila, lime juice, and Mike's Hot Honey well; add the club soda and garnish; and — after raising your glass to honey, of course — enjoy!
