Meet Vigne Surrau

Meet Vigne Surrau

Tucked among rugged hills on the island of Sardegna, Vigne Surrau covers about 125 acres of vineyards. A new winery with ancient roots, it is dedicated to interpreting the earth into premium wine.

This focus on harmony between nature and innovation is clear throughout the estate, from the bold, flavorful wines to the modern estate building, which is constructed entirely of wood, stone, and glass to blend into the surrounding landscape.

And what a landscape!

The vineyards stretch into sunny valleys, caressed by a clean wind blowing from the Strait of Bonifacio. The vines are nourished by the blend of granite sands of the hills, the clay of the plains, and the macchia (Mediterranean shrubland) of the valleys.

Made with a combination of state-of-the-art technology and local wine-making tradition, the resulting wines have received numerous awards in the years since Vigne Surrau was founded. However, the acclaimed winery remains still relatively unknown. In fact, we only encountered them last year, when our own founder Oscar Farinetti "discovered" the winery and shared their unique story with us.

Now, from September 6 to October 8, you can experience Vigne Surrau at your local Eataly! All of our restaurants are pouring select vintages, and our wine shops will be selling the same selection. You can even meet the youthful wine-making team behind Vigne Surrau with special producer tastings in mid-September (details to come).
