Deep in the heart of the Italian Alps, Loacker has been creating light, crispy wafer cookies and rich, luscious chocolate confections for the past 90 years. At Eataly, we are proud to offer these unique sweets, which are steeped in history.

In 1925, Alfons Loacker opened a small confectionery shop in Bolzano, Trentino-Alto Adige, a small mountain town in the northernmost region in Italy. Surrounded by the fresh air and pure water of the Alps, the young baker selected only the finest local ingredients to make his soon-to-be signature confections. Word slowly spread across Italy and beyond. Over the decades, Loacker added new varieties to the sweet repertoire but always focused on pure quality.

Run by his grandchildren today, the confectionery continues to apply careful craftsmanship to the best Italian hazelnuts, natural vanilla, pure chocolate, creamy milk, and fresh mountain water from the Alps. Across the world, the resulting wafer and chocolate specialties are still sought after for their delicate cream, fine chocolate, and crisp bite. Pure goodness and quality prevail.

A symbol of this promise, every Loacker package features an image of Sciliar, the “home mountain” in the Alps where Alfons first started the sweet legacy and where the story continues.
