Italy boasts hundreds of varieties of amari, herb-infused bitters typically enjoyed after meals. Perfect for winter, this creative cocktail combines gin with two popular Italian amari and spices for a warming drink that can be enjoyed before or after dinner. Bitter notes of orange peel and anise give way to complex caramel flavors and a lightly sweet finish. We'll cheers to that!

Yield: Serves 1

1 oz Gin
1 oz Fernet Branca
.5 oz Melletti Amaro
.5 oz honey syrup
cinnamon stick
3 whole cloves

Stir all ingredients with ice briefly until chilled. Strain into a glass with one large ice cube. Garnish with a cinnamon stick and 3 whole cloves.
