La Traviata

La Traviata

At Eataly, we deeply value Italy’s rich cultural heritage. To us, Italian culinary traditions are interwoven with the country’s legacy of art and music. When we learn of cultural events in our home cities - like La Traviata at the Metropolitan Opera in New York - we want to share them with our fellow Italophiles!

Following courtesan Violetta and her lover Alfredo, “La Traviata” is a love story rendered tragic by disease, misunderstanding, and sacrifice. Directed by Willy Decker, this adaptation has an almost surreal edge in a modern setting with timeless music.

The three-act opera runs for approximately two hours and thirty minutes with one half-hour intermission. Sung in Italian, “La Traviata” features subtitles in English, German, Italian, and Spanish.
