Hunger Action Month

Hunger Action Month

Hunger exists in every community in the U.S.: one in six people struggles to get enough to eat. This September, help your neighbors by participating in Hunger Action Month.

All month long, Feeding America and member food banks are asking everyone in the country to take action to fight hunger in their community.  To do this, you can make donations of groceries or money, volunteer, and advocate for the cause. Find your local food bank here, and learn what you can do to help!

Then, learn how Eataly and the social media armies are participating in Hunger Action Month below!

SPOONTEMBER

Raising awareness of hunger in the U.S. is easier than ever with this year’s new “Spoontember,” Feeding America’s new social media campaign. Anyone can participate: simply hang a spoon on your nose, snap a spoon selfie, and share on your social media of choice (don't forget the hashtag #Spoontember!).

"A FARM A DAY" AT EATALY CHICAGO

Eataly Chicago is participating in Hunger Action Month with “A Farm A Day,” a series featuring a different local farm every day in September. After exploring the featured farm’s fresh produce in our market, guests can enjoy the daily special at Baffo, our fine-dining restaurant. Every day, the chef of Baffo, Samuel De Los Santos, is creating a different dish inspired by the featured farm’s produce, such as the raviolo with farm-fresh zucchini and Italian truffles pictured below.

Ten percent of the proceeds go directly to local food bank Greater Chicago Food Depository and their “86 Hunger” campaign. Learn more about “A Farm A Day,” and help us end the fight against hunger!
