The 'Monovarietale I-77' Extra Virgin Olive Oil from La Selvotta is unique since it is obtained exclusively from the I-77 olive variety from ancient olive trees that grow in the Abruzzo hills of Vasto, located in front of the Adriatic Sea. The I-77 olives are handpicked during the month of October and cold-pressed in La Selvotta's small family mill. The aroma is mild and medium fruity with fresh herbaceous notes of artichoke and unripe tomatoes. On the palate, the I-77 extra virgin olive oil is elegant and well-balanced between sweetness, spiciness, and bitterness with herbaceous hints of artichoke and green tomatoes. The acidity of this extra virgin olive oil is very low, between 0.10% – 0.15%.
The Monovarietale I–77 won a Gold Award at the NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition in 2019, the 'Three Leaves' by Gambero Rosso and the 'Three Olives' by Slow Food.
It is perfect with legumes, bruschetta, grilled vegetables, vegetables soup, legumes soup, boiled or steamed potatoes, rice with vegetables, grilled meats, cheeses.
