The Capers in Sea Salt from La Nicchia are capers from Pantelleria that have a delicate flavor suitable for sauces, dressings, meat and fish dishes, sprinkling on salads, or even as a pizza topping. The sea salt preserves the caper's fleshy texture and fragrance over time.

Be sure to rinse the capers thoroughly in a strainer or leave to soak in water for a couple hours before use. Dry and dress with extra virgin olive oil or use immediately as required. The capers are 4-8mm in diameter.

These IGP certified capers are grown and picked from caper fields on the island of Pantelleria, a windy island off the coast of Sicily. In 1971, the producers of capers from Pantelleria founded a cooperative to preserve the quality of the capers on the island. Today the consortium is the Italian industry leader for quality capers. Capers at the La Nicchia farm are picked in their early stage while they are still at the peak of flavor. They are then jarred in sea salt to preserve their texture and taste.
