Lasagna is possibly one of the oldest pastas dating back to the 13th century. The wide, flat-shaped egg pasta serves as a commodity from the gastronomic treasure in Emilia-Romagna in Northern Italy. The pasta recipe was transformed into a baked dish when it was presented as the dish of honor prepared by noble families to demonstrate their wealth of ingredients.
