Bread is no exception to Italy’s variety of culinary traditions. Just like each region has their own traditional pasta shapes and dishes, each town and region have their own form of bread. Focaccia bread had its start in the Ligurian culinary tradition where basil leaves are present at almost every table. As you make your way through the regions of Italy, the herbs and flavorings will change from rosemary to oregano to olives, onion, and tomatoes. Bread making indeed is another artistry that can be rewarding and of course delicious.
