Croxetti originated in the Middle Ages when the Ligurian nobility would imprint a coat of arms on one side of this coin-shaped pasta and symbols on the other. Their wide flat shape makes them ideal for light, oil-based sauces like the vibrant basil pesto.

Pesto gets its name from the Italian verb pestare, or to grind, it is deliciously simple to make it fresh at home! Following tradition, we use a mortar and pestle to crush and grind our pesto by hand to obtain a bright and fresh sauce with a creamy consistency.
