Rome is a special city with a unique culture all its own. Spectacular remnants of Rome’s ancient foundations blend almost seamlessly with chaotic scenes of modern life. While the landscape and monuments of Rome are testament to the city’s grand past, the cuisine is much more a reflection of the Roman people. Inclusive of both vegetables and meat products, Roman cuisine is based on rural and peasant traditions that depended on hearty dishes to fulfill a long day’s work.
