In celebration of Barolo weeks, join us in La Scuola for a guided wine and antipasto tasting experience featuring all things Fontanafredda! Enjoy an interactive, sit-down tasting tour hosted by Eataly Chicago's wine and salumi & formaggi experts and learn about the history, production, and flavors of Fontanafredda’s wines. Together, we will discover which imported and domestic artisanal cheeses, meats, and condiments pair perfectly with each of the featured Fontanafredda wines.
During this event, guests are welcome to ask questions of our Eataly Wine & Antipasto Experts and interact with them throughout the guided tasting adventure.
About Fontanafredda
The Fontanafredda winery was founded in 1858 by Count Emanuele Alberto di Mirafiori on the hunting grounds of his father, the first king of Italy, Vittorio Emanuele II. Only grapes of certified origin that are grown on the Fontanafredda estates are used to produce the brand’s wines under the supervision of the current proprietors: Oscar Farinetti, Luca Baffigo Filangieri and the Fondazione Monte dei Paschi. The estate vineyards extend over rugged, hilly terrain in the villages of Serralunga d’Alba, Barolo and Diano d’Alba, within the heart of Piemonte.
