While pesto is often considered to be green, the sauce goes far beyond basil. The word comes from the Italian verb "pestare," or to grind. Using a mortar and pestle, pesto is traditionally made by grinding fresh ingredients with olive oil, garlic, and other complementary seasonings. The result: a rainbow of pesto possibilities.

In this hands-on class, you will pick from a selection of herbs, and extras. Then, our La Scuola Chef will teach you how to create-your-own custom pesto from scratch, using ingredients right here at Eataly. Take home your and enjoy with your friends and family. In this class guests will:

  • Speak about each component of pesto, and learn how to make pesto out of anything!
  • Prepare the dish under the guidance of La Scuola’s instructor.
  • Enjoy with complementary wine chosen by an Eataly sommelier

Nota Bene: For all cooking classes, cooking surfaces and burners are shared between members of your party.
