We will dive into the fundamentals of various Italian pasta shapes and the sauces that make them shine. From trofie al pesto, to spaghetti alla carbonara, to tagliatelle alla bolognese, the secret to making a stunning pasta dish is simple: a perfect sauce. Originally from the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy, ragù alla bolognese is a world-famous sauce that traces its history back to the late 1700s when this meat condiment was first added to pasta. In this class, students will:

  • Learn about different types of ragù in Italy
  • Shop the ingredients in the store
  • Speak about each component of the bolognese ragù
  • Prepare the dish under the guidance of La Scuola’s instructor
  • Enjoy the pasta dish with complementary wine chosen by an Eataly sommelier
